Profile: G1 Thoroughbred Lying Foal #410797

BreyerFest Special Run
#410797 Stablemate Keychain
1997

It's a shame about the messy eyes on this model as it is otherwise a lovely example of one of my favourite vintage colours. Old-style Red Roan was only seen a couple of times in the late 60s to mid-70s, but the popularity of the colour inspired several special runs in the 80s and it still crops up from time to time on modern special runs and limited editions.

This chestnut roan Lying Foal was released as a keychain, but some collectors prefer to remove the hardware for display and showing. A vintage non-keychain red roan test or factory escapee does exist. This one-of-a-kind lacks the hole in the back and dark shading that the modern keychain models have.
